In order to visit the Nairn Falls, Pemberton and Joffre Lakes, we rented a car for only one day. We picked it up in the morning, in a hotel in Whistler’s Village Center and returned it at the end of the day. And what a wonderful day! These 3 attractions are great ideas to explore some of the beautiful sightseeing near Whistler in Canada.

3) NAIRN FALLS PROVINCIAL PARK – WHISTLER IN CANADA

Nairn Falls Provincial Park is located 20km north of Whistler, just off Highway 99. It’s 5 min from downtown Pemberton, a small and beautiful city. The park is not big and in winter, activities are restricted, but it is worth to visit!

We parked our car and headed to the trail alongside the river. The idea was to reach a lookout 1.5km away from the parking lot to see the waterfall. It seemed easy … It was not. We gave up. The trail was frozen and very slippery. We were afraid to fall and hurt ourselves

However, we didn’t get frustrated. The scenery we saw was beautiful!
Besides the landscape, we saw footprints. We get scared! Later we showed the photo to a local inhabitant and he told us it was from a cougar! Glad we got back in the car!
4) PEMBERTON – WHISTLER IN CANADA
Pemberton is a charming little town near Whistler, on the way to the Joffre Lakes Provincial Park. From the photo you can see that it deserves a stop.

5) JOFFRE LAKES PROVINCIAL PARK – WHISTLER IN CANADA
Amazing! Wonderful! Unique experience! If you were looking for something to do near Whistler, now you know!
We went up to this park to make a trail through the snow and see the frozen Lower Joffre Lake. Exceeded all expectations.

All you have to do is park your car and walk along a small path and you’ll reach the lake.
To our surprise, there was a spectacular mist on the ground. The luminosity was incredible! And to top it off, there were 04 fishermen, those who make a hole in the ice, set up right in the middle of the lake. Lots of beer, music and even a campfire! We laugh a lot. And they were very nice.

From the frozen lake, you can see the glaciers, the mountains with snow and the forest. All very beautiful!
Across this crazy landscape, we ventured into the woods! We crossed a stream, we fell into holes, the snow of the trees also fell on our heads and we arrived at a very difficult ascent, with gigantic boulders.

This part of the trail goes to Middle and Upper Joffre Lakes. Very beautiful places based on the photos we saw. We gave up trying to arrive there. Next time, we will buy or rent snow shoes. Certainly, the ideal to walk in the snow not sinking to the knees!
We saw photos of these lakes in the summer. Certainly an incredible tour. The good side of winter is that the grizzly black bears are hibernating …
