Talking about it, the view of the Passeig de Colón and the Ramblas is perfect.

02) CABLE CAR FROM MONTJUIC TO MONTJUIC CASTLE – CHRISTMAS AT BARCELONA

Now you’ll take the second cable car, the one that will take you from Montjuic to the Montjuic Castle.

Buy only the tickets to go up, because the best way to go down the mountain is walking and visiting the attractions!

Another option, cheaper, but you won’t have the views, is to take the bus number 150 at Plaza de Espanha. 

03) CASTELL MONTJUIC – CHRISTMAS AT BARCELONA

The Castell de Montjuic, is situated 170m above sea level.The first part of the building is from 1640 and it had a very important role in the city’s history.

The fortress is well preserved and receives a lot of tourists, but nothing that bothers at this time of the year. Don’t you worry, because in winter you’ll have Barcelona for you to enjoy, without hordes of tourists.

The view is beautiful, your picnic delicious and you can spend a lot of time there. We even watched an archery championship at the castle courtyard.

After that, walk down the mountain, following the signs to the next attraction. 

4) SWIMMING POOLS FROM THE BARCELONA OLYMPICS – CHRISTMAS AT BARCELONA

For the ones who are old enough or the ones who had seen a TV show about the Barcelona Olympics, you will pass the diving swimmingpools. They are those ones where the spectator watched the dives while seating with the amazing view of Barcelona as the background! Unforgettable!

5) OLYMPICS AND SPORTS MUSEUM JOAN ANTONI SAMARANCH – CHRISTMAS AT BARCELONA

We loved it. We saw the costumes worn at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics, a lot of medals, 01 Formula 1 car and we had a lot of fun testing our reactions in equipment used by athletes. We still ran over a computerized track to evaluate our running starts. We enjoyed a lot!

It’s already the end of the day. The stadium is gigantic and beautiful! From here you can see the most beautiful sunset of Barcelona. We didn’t do the guided tour of the stadium, because it was too late. But, we took a quick look through the railings.

The patio around the stadium is spectacular. You can see the Olympic torch and lots of modern sculptures that aren’t easy to describe, but give an awesome effect upon the sky of this wonderful city called Barcelona.

After admiring the splendid sunset, walk to our next stop.

 7) FONT MÀGICA DE MONTJUIC – CHRISTMAS AT BARCELONA

This attraction is really magical. You can’t miss the sounds and lights show of the fountains of Avinguda Maria Cristina. And is free!

The Font Màgica was built in 1929 for the International Exhibition and is the biggest ornamental fountain in Barcelona. Watching the dancing waters, lit in different shades and colors, to the sound of music, is one of best tourist attractions of this city.

-It’s located at Barceloneta beach;

-The bathroom is wonderful;

-The windows go from floor to ceiling. Awesome. Amazing view..

Negative aspect: 

-It’s not close to the subway station. You’ll have to walk for some minutes. Let’s say that in Barcelona it’s not as bad…
