- In this post, you will see the 4 best and most famous parks in London. They are very well located and easy to access. Find out the tips, pros/cons of each of these parks!
- One detail: They are all Royal Parks of London as they were created only for the use of kings and the court. Over time, they were released for use by the entire population. How nice!
1) HYDE PARK – BEST AND MOST FAMOUS PARKS IN LONDON
It is, for sure, one of the best and most famous parks in London. We really liked it. The Hyde Park is huge. There are several entrances and you can access this park from different neighborhoods and streets. It is an easy place to visit and enjoy.
While walking through Hyde Park, you will find people riding rollerblades, cycling, skateboarding and sunbathing (on the rare occasions when the sun shows up…).You can also rent a boat to row on the lake, rent a sunbed to lie on the lawn or go horseback riding. It is certainly the park with the best infrastructure. You can take your picnic or buy your snack at a restaurant or cafe in the park.
TIP: THE HYDE PARK HAS THE BEST INFRASTRUCTURE FOR LEISURE ACTIVITIES IN THE CITY.
We loved the huge trees, whose branches go down to the ground. You can “enter” under the canopy and it feels like a cabin. Just seeing to understand. It is worth to try.
At the Marble Arch, you will find people talking about what they like! It is the famous Speaker’s Corner, used for this purpose since the 19th century. It is considered an attraction for people around the world.
CURIOSITY: THE HYDE PARK WAS A HUNTING FACILITY FOR THE KING HENRY VIII!
SUBWAY: Lancaster Gate (Central Line), Marble Arch (Central Line), Hyde Park Corner (Piccadilly Line) e Knightsbridge (Piccadilly Line).

2) KENSINGTON GARDENS – BEST AND MOST FAMOUS PARKS IN LONDON
Once a part of the Hyde Park, since the construction of the Kensington Palace, they are considered different parks. Both are separated from each other only by the Serpentine River.
– KENSINGTON PALACE:
The Palace was once the official residence of many illustrious British, including Princess Diana. You can only visit part of its interior. Don’t expect too much. We were looking for more of Diana’s history, and there was very little. Few dresses that did not make the visit worth it.
Currently, it is the official residence of Prince William and his family.

BEST AND MOST FAMOUS PARKS IN LONDON TIP: KENSINGTON GARDENS HAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FLOWERBEDS.
– ROYAL ALBERT HALL:
We had no idea that we would pass in front of it. We knew the Royal Albert Hall from the DVD of the live show by singer Adele. We went straight to the box office to try to buy tickets for any show to see it during a performance, but unfortunately, all the shows were sold out.

– PRINCE ALBERT MEMORIAL:
The Prince Albert Memorial Monument was commissioned by Queen Victoria in honor of her deceased husband. It is very beautiful and is next to the Royal Albert Hall.
SUBWAY: High Street Kensington.
3) ST. JAMES PARK – BEST AND MOST FAMOUS PARKS IN LONDON
St. James Park is the oldest Royal Park in London. It is very close to Buckingham Palace. And it is certainly one of the best and most famous parks in London. It has our preferred landscaping. Obviously, it is is a lot smaller than Hyde Park, and so, much easier to keep it .
BEST AND MOST FAMOUS PARKS IN LONDON TIP: THE ST. JAMES PARK HAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPING .
The flowerbeds are beautiful, the lake is well maintained, there is a bridge that provides beautiful views. To top it all off, you’ll still see pelicans, swans and lots of docile squirrels.
CURIOSITY: THE ST. JAMES PARK WAS A DEER PARK IN THE PAST!
SUBWAY: Green Park (Piccadilly, Victoria e Jubilee Line) e St. James’s Park (District e Circle Line).
4) GREEN PARK – BEST AND MOST FAMOUS PARKS IN LONDON
It is also close to Buckingham Palace. However, for us, although it is one of the most famous, it is not one of the best parks in London. When we went, the grass was very tall, poorly maintained. We did not see anything interesting about it. Except for the fact that it is always good to have green areas in big cities …
CURIOSITY: THE GREEN PARK WAS A LOCAL FOR DUELS IN THE PAST!
SUBWAY: Green Park e Charing Cross.
